Heygraphic’s works are recognizable even before you read them. Black and white, no compromise—a sharp contrast that captures the eye and won’t let go.

Behind the project is Oscar Cauda, an illustrator and graphic designer born in Pinerolo, who over the years has developed a minimalist and instantly recognizable visual language made up of dots, lines, and patterns that transform the surface into motion.

After studying Graphic Design and Visual Communication at the Polytechnic University of Turin, Oscar developed a body of work in which the graphic mark takes center stage. His work stems from the intersection of precision and instinct: a patient and meticulous process that ultimately finds its purpose in visual impact.

This gave rise to Heygraphic, his signature style, which spans illustration, design, and contemporary art while always maintaining the same identity. Whether on a canvas, an urban wall, a sneaker, or an international campaign, his visual language remains consistent: a palette stripped down to the essentials, where black and white amplify rhythm, energy, and presence.

“For me, illustration isn’t just drawing—it’s a language. It’s the way I capture what’s in my head on paper or digitally.”

His style is built from dots and lines: patterns constructed with almost obsessive precision, which, when viewed up close, create textures, volumes, and depth, while from a distance reveal powerful and iconic figures. Tigers, sharks, and other animals thus emerge from a network of marks that seems to be in constant motion, as if the image were never entirely still. A concise and decorative graphic language capable of creating an immediate visual impact.

At the heart of his work lies the natural and animal world, permeated by a constant sense of energy and movement. His imagery engages with the worlds of sports, music, and urban culture, ranging from large-scale murals in public spaces to unique works on canvas.

Over the years, he has collaborated with Netflix, Lacoste, Red Bull, Nike, Adidas, Absolut, and Campari, bringing his distinctive style to campaigns, products, and special projects. Among his most significant projects is his collaboration on the Lacoste capsule collection for Netflix.

Alongside his commercial commissions, he continues to develop his own artistic practice, which consists of paintings and one-of-a-kind works. This body of work further explores his interest in patterns, textures, and contrasts.

His work has been published in numerous international anthologies and publications dedicated to illustration and design, and has received several awards in the Creativepool Annuals and been shortlisted by Communication Arts.

Regardless of the medium, the focus of his work remains the same: to create images that convey energy through simplicity, pushing black-and-white photography beyond its boundaries and demonstrating how a minimalist language can be, at the same time, extremely powerful.
